The Metallic Look is a great cosmetic look this spring. Plus, it works for all skin tones.

This trendy spring look is with a smokey eye application making it great this season for any special night out. It will work for all skin tones, although bronze skin tones will need to use a deeper blush and lipstick. The metallic look also works for all eye colors, making the eyes the focus, not the makeup.

The following makeup products are needed:

  • Eye shadows in a shimmery Vanilla, Dark Green, and a shimmery Steel
  • Dark Blue Eyeliner*
  • Black Mascara or false eye lashes for a extra special touch
  • Neutral blush with a hint of shimmer
  • Neutral Lip liner
  • A warm soft pink lip color
  • Shimmery Brown Lip gloss
  • Makeup brushes and applicators

*Not a fan of blue eyeliner? Although the blue eyeliner will add a special touch, a Black eyeliner or Dark Brown eyeliner will work too. The black or brown eyeliner, will work best for those with blue eyes.

For the Eyes:

  1. After applying foundation, concealer and powder to set the base, apply the shimmery vanilla eye shadow to the brow bone. Also apply the vanilla eye shadow to the skin around the tear duct to help brighten the eyes.
  2. With the dark blue eyeliner, line the top lashes. Start the line on the inside of the top lash with light feather-strokes slowly getting thicker towards the end.
  3. With the dark green eye shadow, apply to from the lash line into the crease to blend with the vanilla eye shadow that was applied on the brow bone.
  4. Apply the dark green eye shadow along the bottom lashes, blending with the vanilla eye shadow that was applied around the tear duct.
  5. Using the steel eye shadow, apply to the lid of the eyes, blending with the dark green eye shadow.

For the Cheeks:

  1. Apply the blush with a light touch to the cheekbones and blend. When using a blush with a shimmer, always remember less is more.

For the Lips:

  1. With the neutral lip liner, line and fill in the lips. Starting with the bow of the lip and light feather strokes out. Then the center of the bottom lip with light feather strokes out.
  2. Apply the soft pink lip color with a lip brush, blending the lip liner with the lipstick to erase any lines.
  3. Add the lip gloss, specifically to the center of the bottom lip.

For deep-set eyes, instead of a smokey eye look, apply as a basic eye application. This will prevent the eyes from looking even more deep-set, keeping the look younger and fresher.

Remember spring brings more outside activities so keep your skin safe with sunscreen and to achieve the best tan.
